There was an island on the outskirts of Pieriga - Akmeņsala. When there was more water, there was really an island in Katlakalns, between the Daugava, the Olekte river and Melnezers. Katlakalns is t.s. migrating toponym and historically started on the outskirts of Riga. You are invited to "migrate" today! Go to get to know the pearls on the outskirts of Pieriga, which over time have hidden a bit in residential areas.
You will notice that there is little untouched nature here, the countryside is increasingly turning into clusters of private houses, and once small roads have become highways and important traffic arteries in the common road system of Pieriga. BUT! There is a Daugava right here, from the shores of which a beautiful landscape opens up to the towers of the capital and walking along the pines of Katlakalns or walking in the park of Rāmava Depkina manor, you will not feel the proximity of the capital.
IMPORTATN! In order to participate in the hiking cycle "Nature Circles", you must read the rules of the campaign. By participating in the hikes, the participants confirm that they have read the regulations.
